A Fond Farewell to Delilah
Just another shout out to the Sing-Off. If you’ve been watching, you know it’s down to the top six this week. And one of my favorites, Delilah didn’t make the cut. Despite that, I think their performances this week were amazing and worth posting here:

I also really liked Vocal Point’s rock song:

But for me, the group that is emerging as the one to beat is the smallest group in the competition, Pentatonix:

And this performance by the Dartmouth Aires last week was the highlight of the season so far:

I haven’t been watching regularly (my husband can only take so much of it) but I’ve been rooting for Vocal Point, mainly because my friend’s cousin is one of them.
I’m rooting for Vocal Point too, but I really think Pentatonix is just too good. The Dartmouth Aires are also very consistent. Both of them are going to be tough to beat.
This is the only singing show I’ve watched. My understanding though is that few do. Is it just up against too much competition.
It’s also a capella. Despite the skill required to sing a capella, it will always be a niche in the music world because, let’s face it, musical instruments were invented for a reason.
And I think a lot of people just prefer to hear a single vocalist. I do.
Well, a capella wouldn’t be interesting with a single vocalist, but I assume you mean a single vocalist with instrumental backing. I like that too, but you hear that all the time. It’s nice that this show gives us something different, but it’s never going to be as popular as a mainstream singing competition.
