Cheese night on American Idol! What’d everyone think?
(Rusty asked me to do the Idol post this week because he was too busy.)
I’m tempted to say “bleh” to Mike as well, but the first part of the song he sounded great. I was noticing that he has a voice that sounds good if you just close your eyes and listen. Some of the other contestants are really pitchy or just not pleasing if you’re not looking at them.
Loved how Crystal cried at the end of her song, then in the phone number recap she ended it fine. Gabby mentioned last week the recap footage is taken from dress rehearsal.
I thought Crystal was light years above the rest. Lee was good but mainly because it’s a great song. His way of singing is just annoying to me at times. Casey chose one of my fave songs of all time. A good one, too, because it didn’t come off as cheesy as a lot of the rest. It’s just a feel-good song. Mike’s song choice was lame.

I agree with your first two, but the rest were terrible. I actually thought Casey was the worst though. He’s just become cheesy.
I like Lee but didn’t love him. Certainly not as much as the judges did. I love “The Boxer” and claim it to be one of the greatest songs ever, but his performance left me underwhelmed. And after the Laaa-la-la’s, you need a real boom.
Speaking of which, has there not been a Paul Simon night on Idol? That seems odd.
Lee is pretty much the only reason I’m still watching and, in all honesty, I usually get around to watching both weekly episodes at the same time sometime during the weekend…
Lee is my reason for watching too, but I will say I really liked Crystal, and actually liked Siobhan as well. I don’t get why the judges were so hard on her. She really changed it up this week, no screaming, yet not boring, she hit the notes, it was a good song. I just don’t understand the problem. I thought Casey was just more of the same. He needs to do something different. Aaron was ok once he got going, and ended realy well, but the start of the song was really shaky. I think Crystal and Lee though, are in a different league.
Ok. I just watched. Aaron gets an automatic FAIL for 1. still being there and 2. singing that AWFUL song. Blah.
My problem with Siobhan is that she sings through her nose. She is so nasally, I want to pass her a hanky every darn week. I cannot believe she doesn’t get called on it more often. That and she thinks she is MUCH better than she is.
And, yeah. Crystal and Lee and in a WHOLE other category. I just personally don’t care for Crystal, but can see why one would.
Just watched. Man, this was a terrible week. The only decent performances were Lee and Crystal. Aaron was abysmal, I can’t even watch that guy anymore. Same with Siobhan. Now that Tim is gone, finally, it needs to be Aaron and Siobhan’s turns.
Just watched the Idol Gives Back results show. Mad props to Joss Stone. And Mary J Blige and Orianthi.
