Idol: Rank ‘Em 1-to-10
10) Tim
9) Siobhan
8 ) Aaron
7) Didi
6) Katie
5) Mike
4) Crystal
3) Casey
2) Lee
1) Andrew
I understand that Tim is the VFTW favorite right now, (though I don’t think that makes any impact whatsoever) but I think it’s just his time. He is always in the bottom, he has no business being this far in the competition, we’re just delaying the inevitable. His performance tonight wasn’t horrible, but it was bad.
Finally, people can see what I’ve always been seeing with Siobhan. I really don’t think she’s very good. All she has is her screams which are beyond ridiculous at this point. Bad performance. She’s not very original.
I hate when people sing Ain’t No Sunshine because it’s one of my all-time favorites and nobody will ever touch Bill Withers. Aaron’s version of it was boring and flat.
Didi disappointed. Not as bad as the judges said (as always), but not very good. It seemed like her tempo was way too fast which threw everything else off.
Katie’s performance was neither here nor there. Completely forgettable. That and she probably shouldn’t be touching Aretha.
As always a solid but boring/forgettable performance by Mike. What’s crazy about him is that he’s consistently good, but never really more or less than that.
I didn’t think what Crystal did was that revolutionary. In fact, it was a bit awkward for me when she stood up from the piano mid-song. But it was a great performance, though not one of her best. And get rid of those back-up singers for crying out loud.
Good performance, though homeboy needs to stop smiling. Casey is too stiff and cheesy mugging for the camera. But a great sound.
Lee’s performance was really, really good. I would say best of the night except that he still seems a little lacking in confidence. Maybe it’s not even confidence, maybe to have that sound he needs to just be a little more arrogant or something. I don’t know what it is.
Not as good as the judges were saying, but Andrew’s performance was fantastic. I’m sure many/most people would put Lee above Andrew, but I think I’m putting him here merely because I think he’s a little more unique than Lee.

I actually liked Mike this time. He surprised me by going a completely different route than he has before. I say give the big man some credit.
I was so disappointed in Didi. Still love her but she really needs to get a clue. Kara’s comments were right on and in fact were the same as what I said last week. Didi has the potential to be amazing but she’s throwing it away on bad song choices and she really isn’t showing anything about who she is. And what was up with Ryan??? That exchange at the end of her comments was really awkward and puzzling.
Crystal was just silly. She looked awful. Very awkward performance. She should never have listened to Kara.
I thought Lee was great. I think what people are seeing as a lack of confidence is really just bad habits. He has a tendency to duck his head and look to the side or down intead of into the camera or the audience. It’s not a confidence problem it’s just poor performance habits that rockers who perform in bars and liquor stores pick up. They’re not used to people actually watching them. As soon as he straightens that stuff out he’ll be perfect.
I don’t see Casey as stiff or cheesy, but Casey and Lee are sounding an awful lot alike lately. I think there’s probably room for only one of them in the top 4, so it will be interesting to see them duke it out for the rocker audience. My money’s on Lee but Casey’s got the chicks in his hip pocket. No telling how it will shake out.
I said last week that Siobhan needed to change things up. She didn’t do it and she paid the price. She’ll be around a while more, so maybe she’ll figure it out, but right now she’s headed in the wrong direction.
I’m still not sold on Andrew but he’s definitely better.
Aaron was good with a great song, but that song is a bit overdone.
Whoever told Katie to sing Aretha is an idiot.
Once again, I thought Tim was better than he got credit for. Not a great song choice but he did pull it off and should have been given some credit for singing a tough song. He’s probably gone this week and that’s ok, because it’s got to be him or Katie and Katie probably deserves to stay more than Tim does. Ellen totally nailed her comment on the way Tim moves on stage. Hilarious. She’s the best thing about Idol this season.
I would put Lee, Casey and Mike at the top this week, followed by Andrew and then everyone else.
Don’t know if it is just me, but Idol this year is boring boring. Can’t even remember anyone’s name – talent seems to be really lacking this year
Not just you…
And would it have KILLED them to remind the fetus boy (what’s his name?) that Kris Allen KILLED Ain’t No Sunshine last year.
Didn’t see that one coming.
Ok, that sucks. Didi should not be leaving and the Judges should definitely have used the save. It’s stupid to keep Tim around just to keep surviving week after week when the judges have never liked him. Didi has actual skills.
Didi proved that she doesn’t deserve to stick around by her constant bad song choices, though.
I loved Mike’s performance but I absolutely love that song (India.Arie’s “Ready For Love”–love love love it).
I was glad to see Andrew do well.
