A lot of good stuff. Send tips to tjacob78@yahoo.com.

Google’s answer to the iPhone. A comparison.
TV
Has Heroes learned its lesson?
Obama to appear on SNL?
Due to the success(?) of 90210 and Knight Rider, networks are searching for the next big remake. CBS is looking into updating Hawaii Five-O and Streets of San Francisco. ABC is planning small-screen remakes of the J-Lo chick-flick “Maid in Manhattan” as well as “Witches of Eastwick.” Also in development, a remake ofV!
As a fan of the Daily Show, this comes as welcome news. And maybe not for the reason you think. Not sure how well Bee’s vagina jokes are going to play out on CBS.
New promo for Lost Season 5.
Music
Blake Lewis becomes the latest Idol contestant to diss the show.
Radiohead offers a remix of Reckoner. Remember when cool bands like The Cure used to release entire albums of remixed hits? Is it wrong that I like these?
You can listen to the new Killers single, Human, streaming on their website. Sounds like more of the same from them, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. New album, Day & Age, set to be released on Nov. 25th.
Movies
I’m not much of a Trekkie, but this looks pretty cool. Is this an even or odd movie? I lost track. Is the jury still out on Abrams as a director? (MI:3, Cloverfield).
Get off my plane! Harrison Ford’s role in Air Force One voted best movie president in online poll.
Okay, so maybe Eastwood doesn’t win an Oscar for Changeling. How about Gran Torino?
Sports
Brett Favre finds himself in the middle of another controversy.

I think the whole even and odd thing is reset now since this is a reboot of the Star Trek series. I like the cast though.
And V!!!??!!?
jjohnsen,
That means this is an odd one then?
Is it possible that this V will go somewhere? I remember watching as a child and thinking that nothing ever happened.
I have to agree about Heroes. Shaking things up with Sylar gave me some hope. But there’s too much ad hoc stuff that completely goes against everything we know about the characters. Bad writing. I’ve not even watched the latest one yet. I’m near giving up on it. (And I’ve heard ratings suck)
Abrams produced but didn’t direct Cloverfield. I was kind of disappointed in it. Great idea with no where to go.
This season of TV has been ultimately disappointing. I’m still giving Fringe a chance but keep threatening to quit. Life on Mars is teetering on the edge. The only standout thus far has been Pushing Daisies as it is better than ever. (And last night’s South Park was as well)
V is a fun movie, but it suffered from producers overdoing the second act. The first act (the first two parts) were done by Kenneth Johnson, directed and written by him. You can see it has a grittier, edgier feel. The second act (the last three parts) were taken over by someone else who added all sorts of soap opera drama crap that dragged the show down.
I wonder what they will do in a remake. Will they keep with the main premise (long live “freedom fighters”) when those freedom fighters were out blowing up buildings, and, well, being insurgents.
This played well in the 1980s with the whole battle against the Soviet “evil empire” Union (and of course against Nazism, the real inspiration of Kenneth Johnson) and our freedom fighters in Afghanistan. But does it work today? Freedom fighters today are fighting against us!
They already made a remake of Hawaii 5-0, just called Hawaii. Had Eric Balfour in it. Personally, I liked it (and the Dragnet remake, with Al Bundy, too.)
Clearly, what we need is a remake of the A-Team. =)
A-Team is being remade. It is rumored it will star Bruce Willis as Hannibal, Woody Harrelson as Murdock and Ice Cube (death nell for the film) as BA Baracus.
If my RSS feed is to be trusted, it looks like there’s a 30 Rock sneak peek available on Hulu.
Wasn’t that Don Johnson cop show in SF basically a remake of Streets of SanFrancisco? IIRC, part of why they stopped making it was cost of filming in the Bay Area.
Nash Bridges! That’s what it was called. No one cares.
Why on earth couldn’t they just cast Mr. T as BA?
Because he’s in his late 50′s?
Tim J: I love this series. Keep it up!
I’d hate to be the actor asked to replace BA Baracus. Who could pull it off? Obviously he’d have to play the character differently, or it’d just be annoying.
I’ve been re-watching all the Lost seasons from the very beginning. I started just a few weeks ago and am part-way through Season 3. It’s weird: watching them all together like this makes me really, really dislike Jack.
Anybody else been watching Lost reruns on Monday evenings on Sci-Fi? They run like 4 episodes in a row. I watched the pilot (which really was incredible) and then a few subsequent episodes and was actually surprised at how quickly things moved along.
You can also catch reruns of Lost (and Heroes) on G4 as well.
I watch Lost on ABC’s site. I can watch whenever I want and it’s free.
So what if he’s in his late 50′s? I pity the fool that has to play BA Baracus.
OK, I don’t have time to watch regularly and my HD DVR doesn’t hold as much HD as SD. So I’m having to prune my watchings.
Life on Mars: gone. The main character was annoying and it was turning into a bad 70′s cop show with some odd psychological/sci fi elements that weren’t going anywhere.
Heroes: on the cusp. Everyone still is dumb and there are so many inconsistencies it’s ridiculous. Bad writing. I’ll watch one more episode just to see what father Petralli does.
Fringe: on the cusp. I may stop. It’s all ad hoc and ridiculous. Actually belay that. It’s gone.
Now I can catch up on Netflix.
Clark: Ah, man, I was totally kidding. Hmm, something equally ridiculous they couldn’t possibly remake…
Three’s Company? – a guy lives with 2 girls; like, who cares?
Ooh, any of the Sid & Marty Kroft shows – Wonderbug, Dr. Shrinker, Electra Woman & Dyna Girl, Land of the Lost. They couldn’t possibly remake any of those, could they?
I think Will Ferrell is in a remake of Land of the Lost.
