New Music Preview: Elbow – The Seldom Seen Kid
Elbow is a band from Manchester that has made some fantastic music in the past and has a new album (their fourth), The Seldom Seen Kid, which has just been released in the UK and comes out in the States in April.
They will also be starting a tour in April which will take them to SLC in May where they will be in my favorite venue, The Depot. This will be a show not to be missed. “Grounds For Divorce” is a song from their new album:
And here is one of their best songs, “Switching Off” from a previous album, Cast of Thousands:

Thanks for the heads up. I like Elbow.
Nifty. Great head’s up … and I’ll be darned, there they are on Rhapsody … so I can listen all day in the car tomorrow.
The end of the world is getting a really great soundtrack. Best time for music ever.

Is it the end of the world already, Thomas? I feel fine. Oh well, it’s time I had some time alone.
MCQ,
Yup. And while I generally don’t have much good to say about mystery babylon, mother of harlots, all that misery makes for some sublime music!
One thing about the bloggernalce … I’m not 100% sure about when I should put a wink. Heck, I’m not even sure when I mean to have a wink.

You know, you’re absolutely right about this being a great time for music. I hear a lot of belly-aching about it, but if you look you can really find some fabulous stuff. It was just announced that Elbow will be playing with Air Traffic, another amazing band! End of the world or fin de siecle? You be the judge.
