  1. The Dark Knight should be awesome. The new Harry Potter should live up to the fairly high standards we’ve come to expect from that franchise.

  2. There’s an X-Files 2?

I’m curious about Speed Racer and Star Trek, but not excited.

  3. Star Trek + JJ Abrams

  4. Indy 3.

Dark Knight should be fun, but not nearly as good as Indiana Jones. :)

  5. That would, of course, be Indy 4…

  6. Ronan, if you could audio-record all you comments henceforth, it would be greatly appreciated.

  7. Ronan: Isn’t this Indy 4? Or are you like me and don’t count ‘Temple of Doom’?

  8. er…yeah, Indy 4

  9. Who is this Ronan fellow of whom you speak? My name is The Brit. I speak from my lips and not my throat and I despise all diphthongs.

  10. I’m hoping The Quantum of Solace continues in the vein of good movies with bad names like The Shawshank Redemption and The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford.

  11. California Condor

Why no love for the Chronicles of Narnia? Is it to religious?

  12. Star Trek is now a 2009 release, so I’ll leave that off. The movie I’m most looking forward to is Dark Knight, but it’s followed very closely by Indiana Jones.

  13. Why no love for the Chronicles of Narnia? Is it to religious?

I love the books, but the first movie was pretty boring.

  14. What jjohnsen said. The first movie was mediocre. I have little reason to hope for the 2nd.

  15. I never made it though the first CN movie- turned it off and sent it back to Netflix.

  16. California Condor

I voted for Indiana Jones 4.

But based on what happened with the new Star Wars movies, I am worried that Indy 4 could end up being a massive disappointment.

  17. The Dark Knight. I had my reservations when I heard Heath Ledger (RIP) was going to be cast as the Joker, especially since earlier reports had Hugo Weaving in the role. But the trailer looks fantastic.

The X-Men Movie is by far the most intriguing.

Indy 4 gives me great pause.

  18. Here’s the Indy 4 trailer.

  19. There’s a new X-Men movie??

  20. Oops. X-Files. Not X-Men.

(My first reaction was, There is?!?)

  21. I had to vote for more than one. Indy 3 and Harry Potter are both movies I am looking forward to, however, I probably lean a little more towards Indy.

A good friend of mine works at ILM and finished the Indy 4 film. He says it’s a good one!! Right now he’s working on the new Star Trek – a pre-Kirk thing, and he’s having a ball creating and designing “retro” transport vehicles and creatures.

His next project, he just told me, will either be Transformers 2 or working on designing a new rendition of the Star Tours ride at Disneyland.

He’s got such a cool job.

  22. 007

  23. meems – that is a great job!

I put more than one too – Indy, Dark Knight, HP, 007, Star Trek and Narnia are all films I’m looking forward to. I’m most excited by Indy and Batman though. Hopefully another good year for film!

  24. X-Files 2, but only if Cancer Man is in it.

  25. Oohhhh! Cancer Man always made for the best episodes! Agreed.

  26. Indy 3 I want to be excited about. But reading that it was similar in tone to Last Crusade made me a tad scared. I really, really don’t want this to be a disappointment akin to the prequels.

Batman will rock and is the #1 excitement.

Quantum of Solace I’m excited for and hope the series won’t keep getting progressively worse as it did with Brosnan.

I’ve no intention of seeing the new Harry Potter after how horrible most of the others have been.

  27. Well, you can bump Star Trek off the list. It’s being held back until Summer 2009.

  28. Dark Knight.
    Speed Racer.

  29. Speed Race…looks…interesting. Like the Warchowsky Brothers still have been doing way too much ecstasy and coke. I loved their first two movies. (Bound and The Matrix). Everything they’ve done sense has been very disappointing. (Yeah, I know they didn’t direct V for Vendetta – but they had a huge influence on it)

  30. Reese Witherspoon’s PENELOPE is finally being distributed in the US in 2008…it made the round of film festivals back in like 2006, and is just making it to theaters, albeit not in my small town yet.

Mamma Mia! was one of the more worthless stage musicals I’ve ever seen; it’s hard to imagine that the movie version would be improved.
