Looks like there are no wrong answers here.
I’m actually looking forward to this one. Note that 3 Ninjas has both Hulk Hogan AND Loni Anderson.
Gymkata has substantial awesomeness.
Really people, there is a slight chance of Gymkata being “so bad its good.” There is no such chance with 3 Ninjas.
Vote with your heart!
I don’t think Gymkata quite fits that description, John C. Though it has been some 15 years since I’ve seen it. It is very, very bad.
I still remember trying to justify to my older brothers why there would be a pommel horse in the middle of the town square.
That pommel horse is the one thing I remember from Gymkata. Who wouldn’t want to be some sort of gymnastics-ninja in the middle of some medieval place on a pommel horse?
The original 3 Ninjas movie was a passably decent flick, in completely unoriginal. I have no idea about this sequel.
“if completely unoriginal” – sheesh.
I can’t believe 3 Ninjas is surpassing the awesomeness that is Hollywood’s cashing in on the male gymnastics craze of the 80′s. (Let’s not forget 1986′s American Anthem with Mitch Gaylord who returned to film trying to capture Gymkata’s success with American Tiger, where he plays a gymnast ripshaw driver who can use his gymnastics prowess like Jackie Chan uses kung fu.)
I’m not sure why I’m voting – but I cast for Gymkata. The pommel horse in the town square or whatever sounds like a clincher.
This isn’t a category that inspires me – as it seems awfulness might be found in a lot of movies. I tried googling “worst martial arts movies” and ended up getting lists of “100 worst martial arts movie titles” … which strikes me as a very bad sign for this genre/theme in general.
Gymkata wins it, and has been added to the Netflix queue. Thanks, everyone!
Whew. I was worried there for a sec. The awesomeness that is Gymkata shall be experienced. I suggest American Tiger as a follow up though.
Watching Gymkata tomorrow, punks. Sorry it took so long.
