Name These Love Songs
I’ve spliced together clips of songs to see how many you can all identify. This week’s clips are all love songs. Or at least, they fit my definition of a love song! Some of these might be a little tough.
I’ll give you a day or two to make your guesses, then I’ll post the answers. There are clips from 14 songs this time.
Song clips are in the radio.blog: “Name These Love Songs”
NOTE: You might want to listen and make your guesses before reading the comments, or other people’s guesses might spoil your fun.
UPDATE: I’ll paste the answers in down below. If you haven’t had a chance to make your guesses, don’t click on the “more” link until you have!

Looks like all guessers together got all the songs except for the title of Damien Rice’s. (Thought that was more popular than it is! It was used in a movie trailer.) Supergenius had the most right this time. Good job!

Answers are posted. I’m gonna upload Damien Rice and Ted Leo to the radio.blog.
DAMIEN RICE!!
I have one thing to brag about: I got Damien Rice and nobody else did. Neener neener.
I’m really liking Damien Rice right now. “Lonelily” and “Unplayed Piano” are fantastic and his new single “9 Crimes” is good, too.
Tom,
I knew Cannonball but that was about it, so I didn’t bother.
His new album (coming out next month) has been my most anticipated release forever now. I’m really hoping he uses some of the abrasiveness of his live show on this release.
Did you see him live? How was he? He’s on my list of artists who if they come within two hours I’m going.
Yes, I saw him in Seattle a couple years ago. He was really, really good. You can read a recap of the show on this thread (should link you directly to my comment):

sigh
I am such an ’80s geek. The only ones I can recognize and name are:
Somewhere near the beginning is “On the Bus” by the Replacements. And it ends with “Love Song” by the Cure and “Somebody” by Depeche Mode.
Hmmm, didn’t do so good. I recognized songs by the Cure, Al Green, John Lennon, Simon and Garfunkel, Aretha Franklin, Carole King (not in that order).
The rest (quite a bunch) are pretty much a complete mystery to me.
