It’s him on a guitar tuned to sitar tuning, playing psychedelic Indian-style riffs, with a bass player, a weird Indian drone called a shirti box, and a tabla player. Kind of a pick up band, as we live in Malaysia! But, he should have the CD of the live recording off the board up soon– maybe on his myspace :-) . It’s not for the timid or weak of heart though — it’s pretty experimental – ha! Just a warning! I’ll let you know when he posts it.

I’m off to the airport in one hour. See you in Kuala Lumpur. Bye America!

You won’t believe this, but I just saw Boat on July 12 at the Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco. They were GREAT. Too bad no one was there to see them! We bought their CD and they gave away free buttons ala 1979. My husband is currently wearing a Boat button on his lapel :-) . Why did I go see Boat that night? Because my husband OPENED for them at the Rockshaw Stop!! My husband is CIA Acid Party, and they were great. (plug plug). Anyway, Boat was a total riot and the closest thing I can related them to is something like when I saw the Presidents of the United States. Same fun feeling and great poppy songs. Kind of like the Three O’Clock a little too (from the 80′s).

Thanks for spotlighting Boat, because we just discovered them a few weeks ago! When DH found out he was playing with them, we downloaded their songs off their myspace and we’ve been listening to them for the last month. Super!
